Frankfurt, Germany – Today the German Design Council announced the winners of the 2010 edition of the prestigious Design Awards of the Federal Republic of Germany: the Wally 80 Ryokan 2 (ex Shaka) is one of the ten products awarded with the gold prize.
As stated in the official web site of the Design Preis: “This prize is the country‘s highest distinction in the field of design. It is known as the “Prize of Prizes”. The reason: no other design award sets such strict criteria on entries. Thus, a company can only enter the competition for the Design Award if its product has already been awarded a national or international design prize.
Another precondition for entry is that companies must have been nominated by the Ministries and Senators of the Federal States or by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.
An independent jury selects the winners of the Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany. The jury is made up of representatives from industry, the universities, the design world and the media. The jury is appointed by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.”
The official award ceremony will take place in Frankfurt on February 12, 2010.
In 2008, this stunning yacht received another prominent award, the Compasso d’oro ADI, the world’s most important recognition for quality and design.
These two international prizes reward the continuous research and development carried on by Wally, that make the brand a reference point in the design world.
